Isn't it funny ...

Isn't it funny how we say that we want something but once we get it, it's not what we want any more?
Isn't it funny how we say that were listening but have no idea of what we just heard?
Isn't it funny how we'll know something is true but will go ahead and believe the opposite?
Isn't it funny how God will put certian situations in your life where you can't deny that it's him but you take the credit for yourself?
Isn't it funny how you'll work hard at something to have it not turn out the way that you expected?
Isn't it funny how God says that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways yet we try to convince ourselves other wise?
Isn't it funny how you can talk and talk to a person with out ever really getting to know them?
Isn't it funny how no matter how hard we try we just can't get by on our own, even though we desperatly try?
Come to think of it, maybe it isn't really funny at all.

Recently I went from having 2 roommates to living by myself for the summer. It has an amount of freedom to it, but for an extrovert like me it takes some getting used to. God is teaching me to find him in the quiet moments where I am tempted to call someone to find something else to do. It's been good for me.
This weekend as I say at my parents kitchen table on Father's Day I realized that living on my own was more than just learning to be content with being alone with God at times, but that He also wanted me to keep seeing my house as a welcoming, hospitable place. Then I realized that it meant trusting him even more with my resources because for the next two months I didn't have anyone to help pay the mortgage or bills. So, I did what millions of Americans do every Sunday I opened the paper and began to clip coupons. Not that I have anything against coupons, I've always thought of them as an excellent idea, but truth be told I was just too lazy to clip and never remembered to get a Sunday paper. But now I am proud to say that I have entered into the world of coupons and if anyone has any other money saving tips it would be much appreciated!
