There Are Days...

There are days that I wonder why I do what I do. There are days that everything in me wants to give up, wants to quit, wants to just go home and do something else. But the thought only lasts a moment because I remember why I do what I do. That God has called me,that Jesus' sacrifice is what it means to suffer, not my frustration. That there are still students that need to know him, still people who want to see him. That the ministry isn't about how I think things should go, but about what God is doing and moving. It's about people connecting with the living God and having their hearts captured by him. I realize that it is an honor and priviledge to walk along God and build his kingdom, never a burden. It is amazing to get lost in who he is and what he is doing. I need to take the time to recognize that more.

There is a man...

There is a man who loves me and satisfies me in a way that no other man could even dare to try.
There is a man who whispers tenderly in my ear and calls me his bride.
There is a man who's eyes blaze like fire and whose robes are dipped in blood.
There is a man who is called savior and redeemer.
There is a man who is more than just a man.
There is a man called Emmanuel, God with us.
There is a man who speaks and the wind and the waves obey.
There is a man who they call the Way the Truth the Life.
There is a man who is more than just a man, who loves despite humanities flaws and calls us to himself, the same ones who caused his death.
There is a man who in one breath speaks life and with one sweep of his hand ends injustice.
There is a man that causes angels to bow down and worship with out ceasing.
There is a man who is more than just a curse word, though many only know him by that.
There is a man who comes to make things right despite the fight the devil makes to keep things wrong.
There is a man who weeps when we weep, rejoices when we rejoice and interecedes when we call upon his name.
There is a man who knows all things, sees all things, whose heart is stirred by all things.
There is a man who will one day come riding on the clouds and will judge both the living and the dead.
There is a man who will one day have everyone in heaven, on earth and under the earth confessing his name.
His name is Jesus. Do you know him?

The Semester Begins

What an adventure. From picking up international students from the airport, to bowling and going to the beach we have had an incredible time getting to know new students.
Every meeting we've had 20-25 students. We've been asking God to show up and move and he has. He's spoken to us through Luke 7 as we asked the question, are worshiping Jesus like the woman or are we like Simon who has Jesus sitting right in front of him and not recognize him.
He's spoken by holding back the rain on Monday so we could spend hours having fun in the sun.
He's spoken to leaders by giving them confidence and passion.
He's spoken to freshman as they have realized that it is possible to live for him in college.
And this is just the beginning...
